Welcome to the Shibashi Training Academy

in

Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK

Training you to become a Session Leader, Instructor and eventually a Teacher of a variety Tai Chi Qigong Sets.

To get you started, we offer a 6 non-consecutive day course to train you to become a Session Leader of a set of 18 Qigong movements, which is the basis for a 45 minutes to 1 hour session.

The movements are based on the original 18 movements of the Shibashi Qigong Set 1, but adapted to make them more accessible for everyone of all ages abilities.

We guide you through the essence of each movement but also help you to be able to deliver a session to others. Understanding how to deliver the movements is as important as the movements themselves.

See the course information here

Once you have achieved your certification we allow you to decide what you would like to do next. You can go off on your own path and be a fully independent Session Leader or you can decide that you wish to continue to train with us, to go deeper than the basic information the initial course gives you. We offer continuing development training that you can follow at your own pace. You can learn more about the movements and/or you can learn other sets to add variety to your sessions. The choice is yours, and we are here to guide you when you are ready to develop. Every Session Leader is unique and our moduled learning approach allows you, as an individual, to develop in your own unique way.

See the further training information here

To ensure that you know that the course is of a high standard, we have gained accreditation from the Complementary Medical Association and been endorsed by PD Approval on behalf of The Register of Exercise Professionals. Debbie has been recognised by The Tai Chi Union for Great Britain at the highest instructor level.

On successful completion of the 6-day course you will be able to apply to be a member of both The Complementary Medical Association and The Tai Chi Union for Great Britain.

Our Story

We have been practicing and promoting Tai Chi Qigong for many years and eventually reached the point where we did not have enough time to meet the demand.

Like many passionate people, we also knew that our knowledge should not end with us.

The Shibashi Training Academy is the starting point for us to pass on our knowledge but also to train others to be able to pass on this amazing health art in places that we can't reach.

We have been humbled by those who have successfully completed our courses as they are working with groups of people that we never imagined possible.

The initial 6 day course course begins by changing the health of the trainee Session Leader who then, in turn, is able to pass this knowledge and transformation onto others.

We want to share our knowledge with you to help you lead a healthy, active, joyful life

We want to help YOU get the best out of YOU

We encourage questions and interaction because this is YOUR journey

Our role is to support YOU along the way

Whats in a name?

Here at the Shibashi Traning Academy we teach a variety of Qigong sets and Tai Chi Forms. However our aim is to teach you the structure and essence of each movement, the 'how' rather than just the ;'what'.

We decided to use the popular Shibashi Qigong Set 1 as the foundation course as it is easily adapted to suit all ages and abilities. This set can be enjoyed by a beginner but also has the capacity to teach deeper knowledge and techniques, which we offer through further training modules, such as body alignment, arcs/spirals, neigong, rooting, meditation and practical application and energy healing.

For us Tai Chi Qigong is a way of life.

When we had to decide on a name for the Academy we wanted it to represent all of what we do.

Shi Ba Shi - can be written as 十  八  式  meaning 'ten 8 steps/form, or 18 Movements relating specicifally to the Shiabshi Qigong Set.

However.....

Shi Ba Shi, written as 是   八   世 can also represent deeper aspects of this amazing Eastern Health Art and how we wish to share our knowledge

Shi, 是, means 'am', to be. We encourage all of our instrcutors to be themselves, to 'be' the movements and  to go with the flow.

Ba, 八, can be translated as 'eight' which is a very lucky number in Chnese. It also means to grow and increase wealth, and in this case we aim to help our instructors with their personal development and growth as well as using the movements to improve their health and well-being.

Shi, 世 , can mean centuries, representing the wisdom and  knwoledge that has been passed down from our ancestors, which we, in turn, are passing on in our lifetime.

Written as 是   八   世  we translate 'Shibashi' Training Academy as 'Being Life' Training Academy
